This is a picture of my dad and his brothers during World War II. My Uncle Dick is on the left, my Uncle Phil is in the middle, and my dad is on the right. I wonder how my grandmother felt when she saw her three sons in their uniforms, heading off to war. I can’t imagine what went through her mind.
My dad and his brothers all came home from the war, but over 400,000 soldiers didn’t return. On Memorial Day it is good to take the time to remember those who died for our country. Freedom is never free.
